How we calculated this
- Uses the residential electricity tariff bands used across EnergyWise Malta (€0.1047 to €0.6076 per kWh).
- Bands are set per year, so we pro-rate them to the number of days in your billing period — this is why longer or shorter bills can change which band you reach.
- Eco-reduction follows the REWS rules: one person gets 25% off if under 2,000 kWh a year; two or more get 25% on the first 1,000 kWh and 15% on the next 750 kWh per person, if under 1,750 kWh per person. Limits are pro-rated to your bill.
- Domestic rates used for the comparison: €0.1365, €0.1673, €0.2023, €0.4180 and €0.6860 per kWh. Service charge: €65 a year (single phase) or €195 (three phase), pro-rated. All rates include VAT.
